Where I stayed was quiet and away from the main road but...
Where I stayed was quiet and away from the main road but only a very short walk to the nearest main road bars restaurants gift shops for example. 10 to 15 minute walk down to Bowness on Windermere pier at the pierced the views were great we took one journey on one of the fairies which gave us wonderful views of the surrounding area the boat was extremely clean and very smooth. Buses were regular every 20 minutes to half an hour it was a bit confusing at some bus stops in different places like Grasmere for example and Ambleside. The 599 open top bus was nice with a audio tour guide of the surrounding area for your journey. Overall our stay or was very pleasant we manage to do everything that we plan to do within our five day trip. The two standout places for me was wast water which is a must see and Rydal water but to be honest it's beautiful whichever place you go to disease just get better and better.Smith - 6.0Scored 6.0
Bowness is a lovely location on Lake Windermere.
Bowness is a lovely location on Lake Windermere. If you like trips by water, it is a good place to visit but a bit lacking in things to do apart from that. There is a good bus service to Kendal or Keswick but leave the car and use public transport. You can go to Ambleside by boat or bus but the town is packed during the summer season.

The location was just perfect.
The location was just perfect. It was central for us to adventure out and explore the Lake District. It was also an exciting location for relaxation in the evenings. Lots of fine restaurants and pubs to choose from with a lovely holiday atmosphere abounding everywhere. Regretfully the car ferry was out of order and not available to us. That was a bit of a nuisance as our touring plans had envisaged that being available. None the less we had a fabulous holiday and were not overly put-out by the loss.David - 10Scored 10

It is so easy going in Bowness we try to come here as often as we can. There’s something to do for everyone young and old. We have a dog now and he’s so relaxed here many places are dog friendly. Great location, great property, free parking, great bus / train service options. Great communication and ease of booking property. Property as described. Steep hill may be an issue for some but manageable for most. Beautiful setting, lots of places of interest to visit in local area.Boat trips ,walking trails . The restaurant at Burn How is excellent with good variety of breakfast options. The location is superb and within easy reach of town centre as well as the lake. The free parking was just outside the front door of each room and there are two separate entrances to the hotel. There is a lovely garden at the back which allows for a gentle stroll and sitting down with a drink.

We had a garden view room, just of the main reception, with part view of the lake and jetty area. It was my wife's birthday during our stay and a welcoming Happy Birthday card was waiting for her on our arrival. We were delighted with the room and all its facilities. Only slight disappointment was we did not eat dinner in the restaurant due to the current Covid on going restrictions. That said we will certainly be revisiting The Belsfield Hotel again.
